AI customer service in Oman.
Consent is the spine of Oman’s data-protection law, and it is now fully enforced. The yes to answer a customer is not the yes to market to them. Each ChatSheba deployment is configured to log the two separately, answer in native Arabic and fluent English, take WhatsApp as the first channel, and draw its own data boundary.
Needs we assess with each business
Oman is near-universally connected and mobile-first — internet penetration passed 95% at the start of 2025 — and WhatsApp is the primary channel customers use to reach a business. Commerce code-switches between Arabic and English as a matter of course.
- WhatsApp, Telegram, your website and your app can be connected according to your business’s customer-service needs.
- We test Arabic, English and mixed-language enquiries based on the language your customers actually use.
- Ports and logistics (Salalah, Sohar, Duqm), Islamic banking at roughly a fifth of banking assets, tourism, and manufacturing generate the highest inquiry volume.
Oman's PDPL, taken at full strength
Oman's Personal Data Protection Law (Royal Decree 6/2022) has been in force since February 2023, its Executive Regulations since February 2024 — and the transition period ended in February 2026, so enforcement is live. Sheba builds deployments consent-first to match: express consent captured and logged, marketing sends separated from support replies, and data-subject requests answerable within the statutory windows.
- PDPL fully enforced — in force February 2023, Executive Regulations February 2024, transition period ended February 2026, supervised by MTCIT.
- Consent is the spine of the law — express consent before processing, and separate express consent before marketing messages. ChatSheba deployments are configured to capture and log both.
- Cross-border transfer needs the data subject's consent or anonymised data, with the controller carrying the adequacy burden — we scope hosting and boundaries with your team, including residency paths.
